Larry Demar

Larry DeMar is an MIT computer wiz. In the last 40 years he has developed games and gaming systems in every arena imaginable and piled up accolades and awards for best of breed in coin-op videogames, pinball machines, slot machines, social games and online casino games.

In 1980, he won the Ernst A. Guillemin award at MIT for the best undergraduate thesis in Electrical Engineering. This award was for the creation of a video game system, which provided lecture demonstrations for MIT’s introductory probability and statistics class. Video games and probability would serve Larry well through 40 years of wildly successful game development.

Larry has founded and operated a series of very successful businesses starting with Vid Kidz, a venture with legendary game designer Eugene Jarvis, creating mega-hit videogames manufactured by Williams Electronics in the 1980’s. Larry’s next venture, Cyberkidz, partnered with Pat Lawlor and led to the development of a series of award-winning record-breaking Pinball Machines that dominated the early 1990’s

Larry founded 2 tech companies with his brother Steven in the 90’s and after serving as Director of Engineering for Williams and Director of Slot Machine Development at WMS Gaming, Larry and Steven started Leading Edge Design in 1999 where their creative staff has been making games for land-based casinos, online sites and The Norsk Tipping Lottery in Norway for the past 21 years, led by their monster-hit Multi-Strike Poker game.

Larry also Co-Founded Spooky Cool Labs in 2011, now a Zynga company. Larry holds 38 patents in the fields of amusement games, bowling systems, and casino games in the United States and other countries.
