Jacob Newton is an accomplished legal professional currently serving as the Assistant General Counsel and Director of Regulatory Affairs at Old Dominion Electric Cooperative. With previous experience as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney at the Brunswick County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and Policy Analyst at the Virginia Department of Corrections, Jacob has developed a strong foundation in legal analysis and regulatory affairs. Additionally, Jacob holds several educational qualifications, including ongoing degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Shenandoah University, an Associate's degree from Southside Virginia Community College, and a Doctor of Law from the University of Richmond School of Law. Jacob also serves as a Committee Member at the Crater Planning District Commission and has held the position of Director of Regulatory Affairs & Counsel for the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives.
