Anders Jonsson is a highly experienced professional in the fields of innovation policy, industrial development, and investment promotion. Currently serving as the Chief of the Innovation Policy Development Section at UNECE since July 2017, Anders leads regional and national reviews of innovation policy systems in Europe and the former Soviet Union. Additionally, as a consultant since June 2016, Anders has contributed to significant projects in Belarus and Liberia focused on strategic frameworks for agri-food parks and innovative entrepreneurship. With a robust background as a Policy Analyst for the OECD since February 2012, Anders has developed various initiatives, including the ASEAN SME Policy Network and multiple high-level forums. Experience with the UNDP as a Competitiveness Expert, coupled with previous roles in GFA Consulting Group, the World Economic Forum, and the private sector, has established Anders as a knowledgeable authority in enhancing competitiveness and fostering economic development across diverse regions. Educational credentials include an MBA in International Economics from Universität des Saarlandes and a BA in International Studies from Macalester College.
