Andreas Schaal serves as the Director of OECD Global Relations and OECD Sherpa to the G7, G20, and APEC, leading external policy and relations with over 100 partner countries in support of OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann. Additionally, Schaal acts as the Special Representative of the OECD to the United Nations, is a panel member on the UN Secretary-General's Panel on Critical Minerals, and previously held roles that included Head of the Sherpa Office, Deputy Director for the G8 Summit, and Economic Counsellor for the German Delegation to the OECD. Schaal's experience also encompasses roles in the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. An academic background includes a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Konstanz.
