Eddie Casey is a seasoned economist currently serving as a Senior Economist at the OECD since May 2025 and an Assistant Professor/Adjunct Lecturer at University College Dublin since January 2019, specializing in European economy topics such as EMU, fiscal policy, and the Eurocrisis. Previously, Eddie held the position of Chief Economist and Head of Secretariat at the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council from February 2014 to May 2025, where responsibilities included leading research initiatives, managing the Secretariat, and representing the Council in various international forums. Eddie's career also includes roles as an Expert on Loan at the OECD, Economist at the National Treasury Management Agency, and Research Assistant positions at the Economic and Social Research Institute and the Central Bank of Ireland. Eddie holds a PhD in Economics from University College Dublin and has master's and bachelor's degrees in Financial Economics and Economics and Psychology from University College Cork, respectively.
