Jan Strasky is a senior economist with extensive experience in economic research and policy analysis. Currently serving as the head of the EU/Slovenia desk at the OECD since September 2022, Strasky previously held a senior economist role at the International Monetary Fund, focusing on macro-financial research and participation in the Article IV consultation with Lithuania. Strasky has a solid background at the OECD, where contributions included roles in the Going for Growth team and as acting head of the EU/euro area/Luxembourg desk. Earlier experiences include senior economist positions at Deutsche Bank and the European Central Bank, along with a tenure as a stipendiary lecturer at Magdalen College, University of Oxford. Strasky's academic qualifications include a DPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and multiple degrees in Economics and Philosophy from Charles University.
