Kees Hoogland is a Professor of Mathematical and Analytical Competence of Professionals at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, where Kees has served since January 2018, along with a role as Associate Professor of Mathematics and Numeracy Education. Hoogland is also an OECD Member for the Numeracy Expert Group (PIAAC) since March 2018. With a rich background in mathematics education, Hoogland was involved in Gecijferdheid.nl as a mathematics education researcher, teacher educator, developer, and consultant from 1994 to 2018. Additionally, Hoogland contributed to SLO as a Mathematics Curriculum Researcher and Developer from 2015 to 2017 and served as a Senior International Educational Consultant with APS from 1998 to 2015, focusing on complex educational implementation projects in mathematics literacy. Hoogland held the position of CEO at Wolters-Noordhoff from 1987 to 2003, where over 80 mathematics textbooks were authored. Teaching roles span several institutions, including RU Leiden and Jac. P. Thijsse College, beginning as a Mathematics Teacher in 1985. Hoogland holds a PhD in Mathematics Education from TU Eindhoven and a Master's degree in Mathematics from Leiden University.
