Lawrence Speer

Lawrence Speer is an experienced media professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Media Manager at OECD since September 2010, Lawrence devises and implements media strategies, drafts press releases and op-eds, organizes events, and develops journalist relationships to publicize OECD work. Prior to this role, Lawrence was a Correspondent for Automotive News Europe, covering the automotive sector, and a France Correspondent for BNA, reporting on European affairs. Additional experience includes serving as a France Correspondent for Advertising Age, freelance journalism in Latin America, and a reporter for the Los Angeles Times. Lawrence began a career in media as Editor in Chief of Daily Nexus, overseeing a significant student-run newspaper. Lawrence holds a BA in English and Economics from UC Santa Barbara.
