Nicolas Penagos is a seasoned procurement professional with extensive experience in public procurement systems. Currently, as the Head of Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS) Secretariat at the OECD since November 2020, Nicolas has previously held significant roles, including Head of Latin America at the Open Contracting Partnership and Deputy Director of Business at Colombia Compra Eficiente, where leadership resulted in substantial savings and efficiency improvements in procurement processes. Nicolas has served as a Procurement Consultant and contributed to key international trade agreements while playing a vital role in Colombia’s accession process to the OECD. An academic background includes a Master’s in Economy with a focus on Sustainable Development from Université Paris Dauphine and degrees in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics from Universidad de Los Andes.
