Stefano Scarpetta serves as the Director for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs at the OECD since November 2006, having previously held roles including Deputy Director and Head of Employment Analysis and Policy. Scarpetta also holds the position of Full Professor in Economics at Universitas Mercatorum. Prior experience includes co-directing Employment and Development at IZA and chairing the Global Agenda Council on Employment at the World Economic Forum. Furthermore, Scarpetta has served as a lead economist and labor market advisor at The World Bank and as a senior economist at OECD, beginning in 1991. Scarpetta's academic qualifications include a PhD in Economics from EHESS, a Master of Science in Economics from The London School of Economics, and a Laurea (summa cum laude) in Economics from Sapienza Università di Roma.
