Torkel Klingberg

Torkel Klingberg is a distinguished cognitive neuroscientist currently serving as a Professor at Karolinska Institutet since July 2006 and co-founder of Nuroe as of May 2024. Klingberg's research focuses on the cognitive development of children, utilizing advanced techniques such as fMRI, DTI, and cognitive training software. In addition to academic roles, Klingberg has been a member of the Nobel Assembly since January 2012 and has held the position of Chief Science Officer at Cogmed Working Memory Training since March 2019. Klingberg is also a member of the scientific committee for the Future of Education at OECD - OCDE and has authored notable works including "The Overflowing Brain" and "The Learning Brain." Previous contributions include serving as Chief Science Officer at Cognition Matters and Associate Editor for the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience. Educational credentials include an MD and PhD from Karolinska Institutet and post-doctoral studies in cognitive neuroscience at Stanford University.
