Scott Singer joined OEwaves, Inc. as the Chief Product Officer in June 2021. He has over 15 years’ experience in photonics, micro and nanofabrication, and the integration of photonic systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Los Angeles where he built "the world's smallest lightbulb" to study the Planck radiation of subwavelength radiators. Prior to joining OEwaves, Dr. Singer developed multijunction solar cells for space applications--including a >38% efficient five-junction cell 38% under AM0--3D infrared cameras and lidars for aerospace use, and landing lights for aircraft at Spectrolab, a Boeing subsidiary. He then led the technical development of automotive lidar for autonomous vehicles as Director of Products at Strobe, Inc., a company that was spun out of OEwaves and acquired by GM/Cruise in 2017.
Most recently, he led the productization of single-photon sensitive infrared cameras for aerospace use and laser power converters as Director of Products at Acqubit, Inc. He is an inventor of over 20 U.S. issued patents and trade secrets, and he has received Boeing-Spectrolab’s David S. Joslin Fellowship Award.
