Joe Smithies is a seasoned communications leader with a strong background in writing and engaging with audiences. They served as Deputy Editor at Informa from 2003 to 2006, where they reported on UK and European telecommunications, conducting interviews with industry leaders and breaking significant news stories. From 2020 to 2021, Joe acted as the interim Director of Communications at Ofcom during a transformative period for the organization, before becoming the Head of Communications, where they currently lead a team and implement strategic communication initiatives.
