Peter MacMahon

Peter MacMahon is a seasoned writer, broadcaster, and political commentator with extensive experience in the media landscape. Since January 2025, Peter has been self-employed, providing consultancy and commentary on political matters, while also serving as a Non-Executive Director on the Ofcom Content Board. Peter's career includes notable roles such as Political Editor for The Mirror and The Sunday Mirror, Political Editor at ITV, and various editorial positions at The Scotsman, where responsibilities spanned from editing to leading political coverage. Additionally, Peter has participated in significant political events, including covering multiple elections and referendums, and has contributed to major discussions in Scottish politics through broadcasting and writing. Since 2013, Peter has also served as a judge for the Herald Politician of the Year awards. Peter is an alumnus of St Andrews University.
