Simon Burley

Simon Burley is a seasoned technology professional currently serving as the Director of Technology at Ofcom since May 2024, after holding the position of Principal in Mobile & Wireless Technology from January 2021 to May 2024. Prior experience includes key roles at Cisco as a Principal Engineer, and at Three UK as the RAN Strategy & Architecture Manager. Simon's background encompasses positions at Ubiquisys (now part of Cisco), Nokia, and Motorola Solutions, where significant engineering and strategic contributions were made. An academic foundation includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Interference Mitigation from the University of Leeds and a B.Eng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from The University of Hull, where Simon graduated with First Class Honours.
