Colin Malaney

Colin Malaney is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy development and management within the public sector. Currently serving as Senior Private Secretary in the Markets Group at Ofgem since May 2022, Colin supports Directors in Consumer Protection and Competition as well as Retail Pricing & Systems, while also managing Executive and Personal Assistants. Previously, Colin held the role of Senior Policy Lead in the Consumer Vulnerability & Debt team, where responsibilities included establishing a working group for the Priority Services Register data sharing initiative. Prior to Ofgem, Colin's roles included Head of UK Programmes at the Conservative Environment Network, focusing on policy campaigns for decarbonisation, and Director of Research for the Scottish Conservatives. Colin's earlier experience includes advisory roles at The Scottish Parliament and an internship at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, complemented by a BA in Jurisprudence from the University of Oxford.
