Danula Gamage

Senior Policy Manager at Ofgem

Danula Gamage has work experience in various roles and companies. In 2013, they worked as an Economic Analyst at the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), where they contributed to the development and execution of the evaluation strategy for the European Social Fund Programme. Danula also collaborated with others to publish statistics and conducted research and analysis for the program.

In 2014, Danula worked as a United Kingdom Investment and Trade Intern at the British High Commission in Sri Lanka.

From 2016 to 2021, they held multiple roles at Queen Mary University of London, including Graduate Teaching Associate and Research Assistant. In these roles, Danula conducted seminars, disseminated knowledge to students, provided feedback, and managed a team involved in evaluating employment trajectories. Danula also performed quantitative analysis and executed data analysis using various techniques.

In 2021, Danula joined Ofgem as an Economist and later became a Senior Policy Manager.

Danula Gamage began their education at Lyceum International School from 2000 to 2011, where they obtained an Advance Level Qualification in A-Levels. Danula then attended the University of Surrey from 2011 to 2015, earning a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics. Additionally, in 2015 and 2016, they pursued a Master's Degree in Economics at Queen Mary University of London. Later, from 2017 to 2021, they pursued a doctoral degree in Economics, specifically a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the same institution. In 2019, they briefly attended the Barcelona School of Economics for a Microeconometrics summer school course, focusing on quantitative methods for policy evaluation.
