Gavin Knott

Gavin Knott is a seasoned economic advisor with extensive experience in the field of regulatory finance and economic analysis. Currently serving as the Chief Economic Advisor at Ofgem since June 2022, Gavin previously held the position of Director at the Competition and Markets Authority from March 2015 to June 2022, where specialist advice on financial issues and economic regulation was provided. Prior roles include Senior Consultant at Oxera, Principal at Ofcom, and Senior Principal at Postcomm, focusing on the regulatory framework for postal services. Earlier experience includes roles in financial management at Ofgem, Marconi, and Zeneca, complemented by a Ph.D. in Quantitative Finance and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Imperial College London.
