Lauri Barker MCIPD has a solid work experience spanning several industries and roles. This was preceded by a role as the National Police Promotion Process Co-ordinator at Police Scotland from October 2013 to April 2014, where they provided coordination and administration services for the national promotion process. They also served as a Generalist HR Assistant at Police Scotland from December 2009 to October 2013, acting as a point of contact for Scottish legacy police forces and ensuring compliance in seconded officers' absence management.

Lauri's early career includes experience at Royal Bank of Scotland, where they worked as a Customer Services Officer from July 2004 to December 2009, and at First Group, where they completed a student placement from September 2008 to September 2009.

Lauri Barker MCIPD completed their education history with a Masters degree in Human Resource Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, from 2008 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economic and Social History from the University of Glasgow, from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, they hold the certifications of Chartered MCIPD from CIPD, obtained in July 2022, and Associate CIPD from The CIPD in Scotland, obtained in September 2009.
