Sue Richards

Sue Richards has a diverse range of work experience in the energy sector. Sue currently works as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Ofgem since March 2023. Prior to that, they were an Associate Engineer at Ofgem from July 2022 to April 2023, and a Senior Analyst from August 2021 to July 2022.

Before joining Ofgem, Sue worked at SP Energy Networks from December 2020 to August 2021 as part of the Scottish Power Returners Program. Sue was involved in delivering HV and LV Connection Works in Mid Wales during this time.

From 2014 to 2020, Sue held the role of Senior Network Manager - Utilities at AWE. In this position, they undertook various management roles within the Site Utilities team, focusing on asset operations and maintenance.

Previously, Sue worked at SSE plc from September 2007 to December 2013. Sue held senior management roles, including Operations Manager, Performance Manager, and O&M Asset Manager. Sue'sresponsibilities included investment, supply restoration, and connection works within a defined district.

Sue began their career at EDF Energy in September 1998. Sue held various operational roles in HV LV Distribution Networks, gaining experience in installation, maintenance, and design work.

Overall, Sue has a strong background in engineering and has demonstrated skills in project delivery, asset management, and operations within the energy industry.

Sue Richards has a diverse education history. Sue obtained a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Engineering from the Manchester Open Learning Institute in 2004. Prior to that, they completed a BTEC - National Certificate at the Manchester Opening Learning Institute in 2002. Additionally, Sue received training in various areas, including becoming a City and Guilds A1 NVQ Assessor at the City and Guilds - Sundridge Training Centre in 2005, and completing an IOSH - Managing Safety course at the same training center. Sue also achieved an NVQ Level 3 in electrical distribution and transmission engineering at the City and Guilds - Milton Training Centre in 2002, and completed a course in street works excavation and reinstatement in the highway at the same training center in 2000. Sue's education history also includes City and Guilds 232 qualification acquired from the Manchester Opening Learning Institute in 2000. Most recently, in 2021, they completed a course in Working Safely at IOSH.
