Simone Poppi

Simone Poppi is a skilled Satellite Systems Engineer currently working at OHB SE since November 2023. Previously, Simone served as a Technology Engineer at the European Space Agency (ESA) from August 2022 to February 2023, focusing on exploration technology management and the development of tools for monitoring technology activities related to LEO, Moon, and Mars missions. As Lead System Engineer at PoliSpace from March 2021 to September 2022, Simone led the team behind the Technical University of Milan's first 1U CubeSat and ensured project compliance with ECSS standards. Additionally, Simone has experience as TCS Team Leader, driving the design of the CubeSat's Thermal Control Subsystem. Education includes a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelor's degree from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. A notable achievement includes being a finalist in the NASA RASC-AL 2022 Challenge, where Simone's team received accolades for the best prototype demonstration.
