James Cheney

James Cheney has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. James started their career as an Industrial Maintenance Technician at New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc., where they performed various tasks to ensure continuous production on stamping press lines. James then worked as a Health Educator at American Specialty Health, providing education on health-related topics. James then transitioned to teaching high school math and science at the San Diego Unified School District, where they took on responsibility for the science program.

Following this, they worked as a Nuclear Chemistry Technician at SCE, where they monitored and maintained chemistry and environmental parameters. James also gained experience as an Intern at PCG Utility Consultants, where they located and documented underground and overhead utility lines.

James then took on the role of Field Logistics Coordinator at the Parkinson Lion Ecology Project, where they coordinated project logistics and conducted research on lion feeding behavior. James also scouted archaeological excavation sites and documented artifacts.

James later joined TetraVue, Inc. as an Engineering Consultant and worked on unspecified projects for a few months. James then joined the FHL Vive Center for Enhanced Reality, where they served as an Autonomous Vehicle Engineering Researcher. In this role, they developed an award-winning Autonomous Vehicle Controller and tested and refined an Autonomous Vehicle Simulator. James is currently working on implementing and testing their controller in a 1/10 scale vehicle.

Most recently, James Cheney joined Ojjo, Inc. as a Controls Engineer, starting in 2022.

Between 2016 and 2018, they studied at San Diego Mesa College, earning an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Engineering.

In 2014 and 2015, James Cheney attended Minnesota State College Southeast, where they received a diploma in Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drafting Technologies, specializing in CAD/CADD Drafting and/or Design Technology/Technician.

From 2013 to 2014, they studied at MiraCosta College and obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree with a focus on Liberal Arts and Sciences, emphasizing Math and Science.

In 2006, James Cheney received a certificate from the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer.
