James Cheney has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. James started their career as an Industrial Maintenance Technician at New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc., where they performed various tasks to ensure continuous production on stamping press lines. James then worked as a Health Educator at American Specialty Health, providing education on health-related topics. James then transitioned to teaching high school math and science at the San Diego Unified School District, where they took on responsibility for the science program.

Following this, they worked as a Nuclear Chemistry Technician at SCE, where they monitored and maintained chemistry and environmental parameters. James also gained experience as an Intern at PCG Utility Consultants, where they located and documented underground and overhead utility lines.
