Shane McGee

Shane McGee currently serves as General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Deepwatch since November 2023. In addition to this role, Shane has been a Venture Partner at Okeanos since May 2017 and previously held a similar position at Riverbend Capital prior to its conversion. Shane's extensive legal experience includes serving as General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at COFENSE from October 2016 to October 2023, and as Chief Privacy Officer & Vice President of Government Affairs at FireEye, Inc. from December 2013 to October 2016. Shane also had a key role as General Counsel at Mandiant Corporation, where involvement included the company’s acquisition by FireEye. Earlier in the career, Shane was Co-chair of the Internet & Data Protection Practice at SNR Denton US LLP and worked as an associate at Hogan & Hartson, LLP. Shane began the legal career as a law clerk/attorney at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP. Educational background includes a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a BA in Sociology/Criminology from Bowling Green State University.
