Derek Power is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in site reliability engineering and management. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Controls Assurance at Okta since September 2024, Derek previously held the role of SRE Manager at Aiven and was Head of Engineering for Cloud Infrastructure at Jimdo. Additional significant experience includes roles as Senior Site Reliability Engineering Manager and Site Reliability Engineering Manager at Asavie, Cloud Operations Manager at Ellucian, and Site Reliability Engineering Manager for EMEA at Synchronoss Technologies. Derek began a career in technology as a Software Engineer at Oracle and has also worked as a Web Developer at the National Centre for Geo-Computation and interned at Sun Microsystems. Educational credentials include a Higher Diploma in Leadership Development from University College Cork and a B.Sc. Honours in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Maynooth University.
