Nicolas Backal

Nicolas Backal is an accomplished design professional with extensive experience in product design and leadership. Currently serving as Director of Product Design at Okta, Nicolas has previously held roles such as Principal Product Designer and Senior Product Design Manager, along with Staff Product Designer. Additionally, Nicolas offers expertise as a Design Advisor at Emi Labs, serves as a Forum Member for the Center for Conscientious Leadership, and contributes as a Design Mentor for adplist.org. Previously, Nicolas led design efforts as Head of Design at The Human Diagnosis Project. Educationally, Nicolas holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in Ciudad de México and completed a Design Course in the Urban Mobility Program at California College of the Arts.
