Emmanuel Appiah is currently an Articling Student at OLG, beginning in September 2025. Previously, Emmanuel held roles at Wattpad as a Senior Privacy Associate, focusing on compliance with global privacy standards in Data Subject Access Requests, and as an Associate Copyright Specialist, ensuring user-generated content compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Copyright Specialist at the Law Commission of Ontario as a Student Scholar Fellow, where research contributed to a Consultation Paper on Consumer Protection in the Digital Marketplace, and as a Research Assistant at McMaster University. Emmanuel has also worked as a Student Caseworker in Tenant Law at Community Legal Services of Ottawa and as a Student Intern with the Public Service Alliance of Canada. Emmanuel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Justice, Political Philosophy and Law and a Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from McMaster University, and is pursuing a Doctor of Law at the University of Ottawa.
