Andy Stewart

Cofounder at Olis Robotics

Andy Stewart has held a variety of positions in the engineering and maritime industries. Andy began their career in 2000 as a Master Shipwright's Apprentice at Koehler Kraft. In 2002, they moved to L-3 Communications as a Mechanical Engineer. In 2011, Andy joined the Applied Physics Laboratory-UW as an Assistant Director, Senior Principal Engineer, and Principal Engineer of Ocean Engineering. In 2013, they became the Cofounder of Olis Robotics and Associate Director of the Pacific Marine Energy Center. From 2015 to 2019, they worked as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington. In 2019, they became a Founding Board Member of Washington Maritime Blue and a Sr. Technical Program Manager at Amazon. Most recently, in 2021, Andy began working as a Staff Technical Program Manager at Cruise.

Andy Stewart received a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego in 2006, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University in 2011.
