Rene Onrust

Rene Onrust is the Director of Research at Omeros Corporation, where they previously held roles as Associate Director and Senior Scientist. They have extensive experience in the field, having worked as a Senior Scientist at Nura, Inc., Primal, Inc., and Genesis Research and Development from 1996 to 2006. Earlier in their career, Rene served as an Analytical Chemist at the American Health Foundation and as an Analytical Toxicologist at the Forensic Department of DSIR. They earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Additionally, Rene holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Chemistry from The University of Auckland.
