Abdullah started their career in 2006 as a Developer and Project Manager at Saad Trading and Contracting Company, where they worked on an Order Management System and developed features related to portfolio visualization and risk exposures. In 2008, they joined RiskMetrics Group as a Developer, contributing to the development of a front office risk system and integrating it with other RiskMetrics products.
In 2009, Abdullah worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Saad Financial Services before transitioning into freelance photography as a Photographer for NidalM Photography. Abdullah covered weddings, concerts, and comedy shows in the Middle East, with a focus on the Saudi entertainment scene.
In 2012, Abdullah moved into the investment sector as an Investment Manager (Private Equity) at Manafea Holding, where they sourced, conducted due diligence, and executed Private Equity and Venture Capital deals in industries such as healthcare, retail, real estate, and energy.
Their next significant role was at OPTrust, where Abdullah held multiple positions. Abdullah started as a Manager of Risk Measurement, developing automated processes for risk analysis, stress tests, and liquidity risk. Abdullah also designed and implemented infrastructure for real-time risk aggregation. Later, they became a Senior Manager of Investment Data, leading a team of Data Engineers to implement solutions for data analytics, integration, and automation challenges across the organization. Abdullah initiated the company's first formal data governance practices, including a data dictionary and business glossary, and implemented an automated data pipeline using Apache Airflow and Eagle PACE.
Currently, Abdullah is serving as the Vice President of Risk Technology at OMERS, a position they assumed in February 2021. Before this role, they held the position of Director of Risk Analytics at the same company since October 2018.
Abdullah Mohiuddin has a strong background in both finance and computer engineering. Abdullah completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, where they studied from 2002 to 2006.
