James Aw

Dr. Aw is the Chief Medical Officer at OMERS, providing medical expertise on health and wellness to pension members and employees. They previously served as the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director at Medcan from 2004 to 2019, and maintain an active clinical practice as a senior medical consultant. Dr. Aw has over 20 years of experience in corporate health and occupational medicine, and is also a part-time faculty member at Johns Hopkins University. They co-founded Naweza, a non-profit organization aimed at chronic disease prevention in Africa, and have contributed to various health publications. Dr. Aw holds a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Ottawa and a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from McMaster University.
