Lead, Pension Education & Relationship Management at OMERS

Jayson Subaskaran has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Currently, they serve as the Lead for Pension Education & Relationship Management at OMERS, a position they have held since January 2023. Before that, they worked as a Member Experience Specialist from 2022 to 2023 and as a Member Services Representative from June 2021 to December 2021, both at OMERS.

Prior to joining OMERS, Jayson worked at McMaster University from 2017 to 2021. During their time there, they held various positions, including Student Navigator in the Life Sciences Program from 2019 to 2021, Undergraduate Teaching Assistant from 2018 to 2019, Course Delivery Consultant from September to December 2018, Educational Research Assistant from 2017 to 2018, and Summer Research Student in 2017.

Additionally, Jayson has experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Queen's University from September 2020 to April 2021.

In 2017-2018, they served as a Production Coordinator at 93.3 CFMU where they were responsible for overseeing audio production-related activities, creating advertisements and programs, training and collaborating with new program hosts, and managing volunteers.

Jayson Subaskaran has a diverse education history. Jayson attended Humber College from 2022 to 2024, where they pursued a Pension Plan Administration Certificate (PPAC). Prior to that, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Aging and Health (GDAH) at Queen's University from 2020 to 2021. Jayson Subakaran holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc. Hons.) in Life Sciences, which they earned from McMaster University between 2015 and 2019. Additionally, they obtained a Culinary Arts Certificate from George Brown College in 2017-2018. Jayson Subaskaran completed their high school education at Victoria Park Collegiate Institute from 2011 to 2015, achieving both an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

Jayson Subaskaran has also obtained several certifications throughout their educational journey. Jayson completed the Start – Online Suicide Prevention Training from LivingWorks in July 2023 and the safeTalk Suicide Prevention Training from the same institution in September 2022. In December 2020, they obtained the Smart Serve certification from The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Jayson also completed the Personal Finance Essentials course at McGill University in April 2020. In August 2019, Jayson Subaskaran obtained the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification from LivingWorks and the Mental Health First Aid certification from the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Furthermore, they completed the TCPS 2: CORE course offered by the Government of Canada in February 2018. Lastly, Jayson Subaskaran achieved the Grade 10 Piano (Comprehensive) certification from The Royal Conservatory of Music in October 2016.
