OmniBazaar is a decentralized e-commerce marketplace designed to eliminate the middleman and reduce transaction fees via blockchain technology. We are building an advanced marketplace software template that will allow tens or hundreds of thousands of individuals and small businesses to open localized and specialized marketplaces around the world. With the integrated OmniCoin cryptocurrency, it offers secure transactions, reputation tracking, distributed escrow, and incentives for participation. Our vision is to expand access to global commerce, especially for the 1.5 billion unbanked and under-banked people worldwide.

Most online marketplaces charge high fees and act as gatekeepers, excluding the unbanked and imposing centralized control. They also collect and monetize personal data. This creates barriers for small sellers and increases costs for consumers.

Imagine tens of thousands of small local marketplaces, similar to Craigslist, modernized and monetized using a cryptocurrency that is actually easy to use. OmniBazaar is a peer-to-peer e-commerce system where users trade directly, supported by smart features such as a built-in cryptocurrency (OmniCoin), distributed escrow, and a reward-based system that encourages participation and growth.
