Arka Bala

Arka Bala's work experience includes co-founding OmniLayers in 2020, where they hold the role of Co Founder & CTO. They also serve as a Founding Governing Board Member at Open AR Cloud since 2018. In 2012, Arka worked as a Big Data Consultant for various clients such as Hotels.com, Expedia, and Spotify. From 2020 to 2021, they held the position of Interim CTO at HealthGrid Alliance, a non-profit organization focusing on addressing global challenges related to Covid-19. Arka also founded ContextGrid in 2016 and served as CEO until 2020. Prior to that, they co-founded TravAlarm, Inc. in 2011 and served as CEO until 2016. Additionally, Arka has experience working as a Big Data Architect at Expedia, Inc. and as an Oracle Database Developer at Motability Operations. They also worked as an Oracle Database Administrator/Architect at Qatarlyst Limited.

Arka Bala earned an MSc in Enterprise Information Systems from the University of Greenwich between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, they completed their BCom in Information Systems at the University of Cape Town from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, Arka has obtained certifications as a Certified SCRUM Master from SCRUM Alliance in February 2012 and as an Oracle Certified Professional from Oracle University. The exact dates of obtaining the Oracle certification are not specified.
