Michael Bane has a diverse work experience. In 2022, they began working as a Software Developer for OmniSync (TurboSBIR) and as a Frontend Web Developer for Fuerza Strategy Group. In 2021, they were a Lecturer at San Diego State University. From 2016 to 2015, they were a Visiting Assistant Professor at Indiana University Bloomington, where they designed and taught courses in musicology, music history, and music theory for graduate and undergraduate students. Additionally, they conducted research, published articles and book reviews, presented original research at conferences, and served on department committees. In 2015, they were a Fulbright Scholar at the Institute of International Education.
Michael Bane began their educational career at Northwestern University, though the degree they obtained is unknown. Michael then attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they received a Bachelor's degree in 2008. After that, they went to Northwestern University again and received a Master of Music in 2010. Finally, they attended Case Western Reserve University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Musicology in 2016.
