Matthew Smith has worked in the software engineering field since 2002. Matthew began their career at SRS Technologies as a Software Engineer / Analyst. In 2004, they moved to Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as a Software Engineer. In 2011, they joined SSATI as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed backend services for web applications. In 2014, they joined Cymertek Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer and eventually became the technical lead of a software team. Most recently, in 2017, they joined RequiTest, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed web applications and other utilities using Spring, Jersey, Java 8 streaming with Postgres and MongoDB back ends. In 2019, they joined Omnyon as a Senior Software Engineer.
Matthew Smith attended Towson University from 1998 to 2003, where they earned a degree in Computer Science. Matthew then attended The Johns Hopkins University from 2008 to 2011, where they earned a degree in Information Systems and Technology with a focus in Computer Science. In 2012, they completed Cloudera Developer Training for Apache Hadoop. In 2010, they obtained an Oracle Certified Java Programmer certification. In 2018, they obtained an HDPCD: Java Exam certification from Hortonworks.
