Mike Simpson

Mike Simpson has worked in the design and technology industry since 1996. Their first role was as Director of Design at LEGO, where they conducted global research and used it to conceive new toy brands for the LEGO group. In 2006, they became the Owner of JKID Ltd, where they innovated new toy technologies and products, and licensed Intellectual Property to multinational toy companies. In 2012, they took on the role of SVP Digital Development at Jakks Pacific, where they headed up app concept and development, working with internal brand teams and developers, as well as external vendors. In 2018, they became the CEO of Omura, a technology and design brand focused on perfecting the whole flower Heat Not Burn experience. In addition to these roles, Mike Simpson has also owned their own design and sustainability consultation business, Mike Simpson Design, since 2004.

Mike Simpson completed a Master of Arts (MA) in Advanced Digital Design at Teesside University from 1996 to 1997. Mike received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Industrial and Product Design from The Manchester Metropolitan University from 1993 to 1996.
