Michael Dammerer has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on operations, production, and engineering. Michael has held various roles at OMV, including Head of Operations in Yemen, Advisor for Production & Engineering in the Middle East and Africa, and Advisor for Special Projects in Tunisia. In these positions, they were responsible for delivering on production targets, supporting strategic objectives, and identifying new business opportunities. Prior to their time at OMV, Dammerer worked at Thyna Petroleum Services as a Member of the Board of Directors, representing OMV. Michael also has experience at OMV Petrom as an Operations Manager and Department Manager, overseeing workover and well management activities. Additionally, they worked at DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG as a Senior Subsurface Engineer, Well site supervisor, and Operational Reservoir Engineer. Before entering the oil and gas industry, Dammerer served in the Austrian Armed Forces as a Lance Corporal.
Michael Dammerer's education history begins with their high school education at Diefenbachgasse, which they attended from 1986 to 1995. After completing high school, they went on to study at Montanuniversität Leoben from 1996 to 2003, where they earned a Master of Science in International Petroleum Engineering. In 2002, they participated in an exchange program at Delft University of Technology, focusing on Petroleum Engineering. Following this, from 2005 to 2007, Michael pursued a Master of Science degree in International Business & Engineering at Fachhochschule Technikum Wien. In 2014, they attended IMD, studying Power2Manage for one year.
