Frederic Collin has extensive work experience in the field of protein research and molecular biology. Frederic is currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Oncimmune, a position they have held since August 2021. Prior to this, Frederic worked at the University of Münster from June 2018 to June 2020 as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they focused on studying the mechanism of positive DNA supercoiling by reverse gyrase. Frederic'sresponsibilities included protein purification, biochemical assays, assay development, and analysis of HDX-MS and SAXS data.
Before joining the University of Münster, Frederic worked at Inspiralis Limited as a Principle Scientist from January 2016 to March 2018. During this time, they contributed to various research projects in the company. From December 2012 to November 2015, Frederic served as a Post-doctoral researcher at John Innes Centre, where they investigated the interactions between E. coli gyrase and the toxin Microcin B17 using molecular biology, biochemical assays, crystallography, and NMR techniques. Frederic also conducted research on developing gyrase inhibitors against Mycobacterium tuberculosis from February 2011 to November 2012 as part of the "More Molecules for Tuberculosis (MM4TB)" project.
Overall, Frederic Collin's work experience showcases their expertise in protein research, assay development, and molecular biology techniques.
Frederic Collin pursued their education in a chronological order, beginning with a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Université de Rennes I in 2001-2002. Frederic then went on to complete a Mastère Spécialisé en Drug Design in Pharmaceutics and Drug Design from ICPAL/ENSCL at the University of Lille, covering the period from 2004 to 2006. Following this, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from the University of East Anglia, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.
