We empower operators to understand and prevent cascading delays network-wide and in real-time.

Challenge
Growing traffic demand and increased train density create more and more secondary delays. Dispatchers and Traffic Controllers work hard to stabilize and improve operations — yet they operate with limited visibility, unable to see how local actions trigger network-wide knock-on effects. Up to 70% of total delay minutes are cascading secondary effects.

Solution
Oncron provides an AI-powered software that helps infrastructure managers and train operators optimize train movements in real time. It gives humans decision support well beyond their horizon of visibility — from stations to depots to national networks. Where data allows, Oncron works from simple station-based inputs up to GPS-level precision, propagating the entire Belgian network hours into the future in under 9 seconds. It identifies, quantifies, and visualizes delay chains, highlighting recurring patterns that consistently disrupt punctuality.

Impact
Based on analytics and research, Oncron delivers measurable results, estimated:
• 5–10 % fewer total delays → saves millions in delay costs
• 2–5 % more capacity → new revenue opportunities
• Faster, automated delay attribution → less manual investigation effort
