Michael McDermott

Michael McDermott has over nine years of work experience in software engineering and product development. Michael began their career as an Applications Developer at UnitedHealth Group in 2011, followed by a Software Engineer II role at PNC in 2013. In 2014, they became a Senior Applications Developer at Optum Technology and then a Technical Solutions Architect at CAST in 2016. That same year, they also took on a Lead Developer role at Pershing, a BNY Mellon company. In 2017, they became a Senior Consultant at Deloitte where they led a team of six consultants and drove multi-team JAD sessions. In 2019, they were a Senior Software Engineering Lead at Northwestern Mutual and then in 2020 they became an AWS Solution Architect at Foyer Inc. and a Technical Consultant at Polaris Corporate Risk Management. Currently, they are Head of Software Engineering/Product Development at OnDefend.

Michael McDermott obtained a Bachelor's degree in Technical Management from DeVry University in 2012, after attending from 2009-2012. Michael then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Management Information Systems, General from the New Jersey Institute of Technology between 2013 and 2016. In April 2018, they also obtained an ITIL Foundations certification from PeopleCert.
