Nick Greenfield is a software, data, and microbes-focused entrepreneur and leader. They currently serve as founder and board chair of One Codex, a role started in 2022 after previously serving as founder and CEO from 2014 to 2021. They previously held roles including Head of Microbiome at Invitae (2021–2022) and VP of Product and Tech (Biosecurity) at Ginkgo Bioworks (2022–2023), and worked as a Data Scientist at Cardpool.com (2013–2014) and as a Manager at Monitor Group (2009–2013), in addition to a Summer Intern position with the U.S. Department of State US Mission to UNESCO in Paris in 2007. They earned a Master of Arts in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from Brown University magna cum laude, were a visiting student at Dartmouth College in 2008, and attended Y Combinator in 2014.
