One India Run began as a memory — Om Satija's chance encounter with leprosy-affected people in Rishikesh at age 10, which stayed with him for years. Over 18 months, that memory turned into a plan: run 5,000km solo across India, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, using every kilometre to raise funds and awareness for children affected by leprosy and social exclusion.
In January 2026, that plan became reality. Om ran 5,035km across 13 states in 111 days, raising funds and awareness for Udayan Kolkata — a home and school for children impacted by leprosy — while building a movement around fitness, discipline, and giving back that resonated with young people across India and Australia.
One India Run is an initiative of Australia India Fellowship, the registered charity behind the project in Australia (ABN 22 683 105 222), which supports work strengthening ties between India and Australia through sport, service, and community. One India Run was its first major project.
