Lauren Smith

Lauren Smith has worked in the accounting and finance industry for the past five years. In 2020, they began working as the Accounting Manager at Future Motion, where they were responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of finance and HR, coordinating the month-end close process, and bringing various outsourced functions in-house. Also in 2020, Smith began working as the Finance & Administration Manager at Arts Council Santa Cruz County, where they led the organization through a massive systems overhaul, consolidating and streamlining all HR, accounting, and finance operations onto cloud-based systems. In 2018, Smith worked as a Senior Accountant at Ontera, where they worked directly with senior management to implement finance and operational policies, and worked to streamline month-end close procedures. From 2015 to 2018, Smith worked at BPM LLP in three different roles: Senior Associate, Experienced Assurance Associate, and Assurance Associate. In these roles, they managed projects, prepared client financial statements and disclosures, and consulted with client management on accounting pronouncements and application of GAAP.

Lauren Smith attended Sonoma State University from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting.
