The Oneida Stake Academy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, restoring, and reactivating one of Idaho’s most significant historic landmarks — the Oneida Stake Academy in Preston, Idaho.

For more than a century, the Academy has stood as a symbol of education, perseverance, and community heritage. Originally built in the late 19th century as a center for learning and leadership, the Academy educated generations of students and shaped leaders from across the Intermountain West.

In 2003, the building faced demolition. In response, our community rallied to save it, relocating the 1,650-ton structure to a new site through a remarkable effort that reflects our shared commitment to history and identity.

Today, the Foundation is focused on restoring this historic structure and transforming it into a vibrant community and historical center that will:

Celebrate and share local history through exhibits and educational programs.

Provide space for community gatherings, cultural events, weddings, meetings, and public programs.

Honor the legacy of education and civic pride for future generations.

We rely on private donations, grants, and community support — and no public tax dollars — to advance our work and connect the past with the present while building a meaningful future.
