Gerry Gainford

Gerry Gainford has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. Gerry is currently serving as the Chief Transformation Officer at Blu North, where they help organizations secure their data and grow their business through IT infrastructure management and strategic planning. Prior to this, they worked as a Fractional CIO at Onepath LLC, providing IT leadership and strategic planning services to clients. Gerry also has experience as a Storage and Virtualization Systems Engineer at The Wonderful Company, where they managed VMware and Hyper-V hosts across multiple sites. Gerry served as a Technology Manager at Cal Net Technology Group, leading teams and improving IT infrastructure for clients. Additionally, Gerry worked as an IT Consultant for Fraser Health, University of British Columbia, and FreshSpark, where they were involved in managing projects, IT asset management, and change management. Gerry founded and ran their own IT services company, TekBusters, for over 5 years. Earlier in their career, Gerry served in various roles including Level 2 EDL Engineer at EMC, IT Engineering Manager at Ecocom Ltd, LAN Administrator at Schlumberger Information Solutions, and IT Consultant at Vhi Healthcare. With their diverse experience, Gerry has developed expertise in IT strategy, security, infrastructure management, and project management.

Gerry Gainford obtained a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University, which they attended from 1995 to 2000. Their field of study was focused on IT. In terms of certifications, Gerry obtained their CISSP certification from ISC2 in May 2018. Gerry also obtained an ITIL certification from ITIL Certified in June 2017. Additionally, Gerry obtained an EMCPA certification from EMC in 2007, an MCSE certification from Microsoft in 2000, and they have a CCNP certification from Cisco. Lastly, Gerry obtained an MIEI certification from the Institute of Industrial Engineers, Ireland, although the year and month of obtaining this certification are not specified.
