Frédéric Cassaing is currently a Directeur de Recherche at ONERA, where they oversee the CICLOPE optical station prototype for high-orbit object cataloging and characterization. They have been involved in teaching theoretical components of optical interferometry and wavefront measurement since 2007 at the Institut d'Optique. With a background in high-resolution optical imaging and instrumentation, Frédéric contributed to the development of the ESO/GRAVITY fringe tracker, recognized with a Nobel Prize in Physics in 2020. They earned a Doctorate in Sciences from Université Paris Sud between 1993 and 1997, following an engineering degree from Ecole supérieure d'optique. Frédéric also completed a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches in Optical Sciences at the Observatoire de Paris in 2018.
