Nicolas Severac

Nicolas Severac is a Senior Engineer specializing in wind tunnel testing at ONERA since 1991, with a focus on hypersonics and supersonic wind tunnels. In addition to technical management responsibilities for the R2 & R1ch hypersonics blow down tunnel, Nicolas has contributed to various projects within ONERA, including subsonic and supersonic wind tunnels and turbine and probe benches. Alongside engineering work, Nicolas has served as a part-time instructor at multiple institutions, including EUROSAE and UFR ORSAY, where topics ranged from anemometric probes to aerodynamics. Educational qualifications include degrees in Acoustics from Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers and Mechanical Engineering from IUT de Cachan. Early career experiences involved roles in particle accelerator design and the calibration of spectrometers.
