Lee Munroe

Lee Munroe is the Head of Design at OneSignal. Prior to OneSignal, Lee was the Product Design Manager at Mesosphere from October 2015 to November 2018. At Mesosphere, Lee worked on Mesosphere DC/OS (now D2iQ), the Data Center Operating System. Containers and workload management for enterprise infrastructure software and Kubernetes, solving problems for Engineers, Operators, CIOs and Fortune 500 companies.

Lee ran the product design team at Mesosphere, selling design across the company, investing in design workflows and design systems, working closely with Product and Engineering, validating with customers, pushing great UX across the finish line into the hands of our users.

Prior to Mesosphere, Lee was at Mailgun by Pathwire from August 2013 to October 2015 as Design + Product. At Rackspace Technology from August 2013 to October 2015, Lee was also Design + Product, Mailgun. As the first Design and Product hire at Mailgun, a YC startup acquired by Rackspace that specializes in email delivery, specifically APIs for developers to send and track email, Lee wore many hats including Product Manager, Designer, Developer, Product Marketing and Evangelist.

At Mailgun, Lee managed the customer experience throughout their entire lifecycle across our various properties including website, developer docs, signup and growth, API, and the control panel (dashboard). Lee was responsible for managing our UI projects from idea to launch, maintaining a close relationship with our core users, shipping new features and measuring results.

Lee worked closely with our engineers, founders, and support on a daily basis. Aligning UX across the product, managing the roadmap for product features and talking to customers daily. While at Mailgun Lee built out the UI team hiring full-stack developers and managing external designers.

Lee open-sourced several projects including email templates and a Grunt developer flow to help better understand our customers' pain points with email, and spoke at several leading developer conferences including O'Reilly Fluent Conference in San Francisco, and Litmus Email Design Conference in Boston.

Lee Munroe has a MA in Multi-disciplinary Design from Ulster University and a BSc (Hons) in Interactive Multimedia Design from Ulster University.

They are on a team with Zayna Shahzad - Head of Engineering, Josh Wetzel - CRO, and Matt Pillar - VP Engineering. A direct report to Lee Munroe is and Catherine Supnet - Visual Communications Designer. Lee Munroe reports to George Deglin, Co-Founder & CEO.
