Mark Ward

Mark Ward has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and cloud native development. Mark is currently employed as a Senior Cloud Native Software Engineer at Rackspace Technology since April 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Cloud Native Software Engineer at Onica starting from July 2019.

From 2017 to 2019, Mark worked at Zix as a Software Engineer. Before that, they held the position of Senior Technical Architect / Software Engineer at Mizuni, Inc. from 2010 to 2017. Mark also worked as an Engineering Strategist at Access 4 Learning Community from 2008 to 2010.

Mark's earlier experience includes senior roles at CPSI, Ltd. as a Senior Software Architect / Software Engineer from 2002 to 2008, and at Analysts International Corporation as a Software Architect / Software Engineer in 2002. Mark also worked as a Software Engineer at Vobix Corporation from July 2001 to November 2001.

Mark's career began as a software engineer at Acoustic Design, Inc from 1996 to 2001. During this time, they also served as a Faculty Student Consultant at Network Computing, Western Kentucky University from 1999 to 2001.

Mark Ward attended Western Kentucky University from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. In terms of additional certifications, Mark obtained the following:

- In August 2019, they completed AWS Concepts, AWS Essentials, and Serverless Concepts certifications through Linux Academy.

- In April 2020, they became an AWS Certified Developer - Associate through both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Linux Academy.

- In December 2022, they obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft.

- In March 2023, they achieved the Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate certification from Microsoft.
