Dave Freed

Dave Freed is the current CTO at OnScale. Prior to this, they served as Senior Director Energy & Materials, SIMULIA Centers of Excellence at Dassault Systèmes from August 2018 to July 2019. Dave Freed has over 20 years of experience in the software industry. Dave started their career as a Principal Physicist at Exa Corporation and then became the Managing Director of Aeroacoustics & Complex Fluids Applications. Dave was then promoted to Vice President, Oil & Gas, Head of DigitalROCK. In this role, they were responsible for developing data mining algorithms for business analytics solutions to complement Vignette’s CRM software suite. Dave Freed then joined Cendant as Lead Architect, Analytics where they developed an automated system to rapidly analyze website data correlating customer activity to ticket sales and deliver actionable information to marketing team.

Dave Freed received their Doctor of Philosophy in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in CFD. Dave also holds a BS in Chemical & Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
